Stevie’s Monologue I
They just left me here. They surrendered me to the shelter with no reason and no warning. Now, I am back in this display box again. I am sitting in my box watching people walk by day in and day out. Watching stupid people tapping on my glass and making funny faces. They stuck their fingers into my cage trying to touch me. The constant tapping, finger poking was driving me crazy. I can’t sleep. I can’t eat. I can’t even get some privacy when using the bathroom. I decided to bite them and scratch them. The workers put up a “Caution!” sign on my display box
“This one has no chance.” I heard one of the them saying to the other.
A shorty walked in and stopped in front of my cage one day. The shorty read the sign but still put her finger into my cage. Is she stupid or she just can’t read? I lashed my tail and I got her finger. She jumped back and looked at her bleeding finger. She then smiled and took a picture of me before she walked away. What a weirdo.
Surprisingly, the shorty came in again the very next day but this time with a big doofus. They stood in front of my cage for awhile, and before I could showed them my greatness claws…
“…Are you guys sure? The big gray one? Stevie?” the girl at store asked.
“Yes, He is the one. We are taking him home. We like his attitude.”
Wait……… They are taking me home? I just got ADOPTED!!
